Germany to soften 1km distance law plan

The German government is set to soften plans for a 1km distance law between new wind farms and settlements. It said it would not apply the rule nationally as previously planned and would let states decide whether to enforce it.

Siemens Gamesa to build 59MW in Dijbouti

Siemens Gamesa is poised to build a 59MW in Dijbouti in east Africa in partnership with an unnamed African investor. The project is set to double the country's installed electricity generation capacity. Read more

The HICL Infrastructure and Mitsubishi Corporation consortium Diamond Transmission Partners has concluded the acquisition of transmission assets to the 353MW Galloper offshore wind farm in UK waters. Read more

Nordex picks up 156MW Chile order

Nordex has picked up a 156MW order for 33 turbines in Chile, along with a 15-year service deal. The project is set to be located in the Los Lagos region and complete in 2021. Read more

Lekela switches on Senegalese scheme

Lekela Power has inaugurated the first third of turbines at its 158MW Taiba N'Diaye wind farm in Senegal, with the remaining two thirds of the turbines set to be commissioned by June. Read more

ERG picks up 38W French portfolio

Italy's ERG, through its subsidiary ERG Eolienne France, has bought three wind farms totalling 38MW from Long Wind France SA for €39.6m. Read more
