Iberdrola buys into 9GW Swedish pipeline

Iberdrola has agreed to buy majority stakes in 9GW of development-stage offshore wind projects in Sweden from Svea Vind Offshore. The agreement covers six projects in the 5.1GW Gavle area and two projects in the 3.9GW Oxelosund zone. The first project is the 250MW Utposten I. Read more

Glennmont and PGGM form Italian tie-up

Glennmont Partners has set up a joint venture with PGGM Infrastructure Fund, called Green Energy Management Services, to manage green assets in Italy. The tie-up starts with 400MW of wind under management. Read more

Spain commits to remove green roadblocks

The Spanish government has supported rules to accelerate development of renewables projects in Spain. It is planning to remove bureaucracy, overhaul the auction system to lower prices, and end market speculation. The changes are due to be approved this week. Read more

JERA, ADEME and Ideol in 2GW floating drive

Japanese utility JERA, French-owned ADEME Investissement and French developer Ideol have set up an investment vehicle to fund development of 2GW of floating wind projects. Read more

Wpd wins 15-year PPA with Finnish retailer

German developer Wpd has secured a 15-year power purchase agreement to supply Finnish retail chain Kesko (K Group) with 40GWh of electricity annually from its wind farms in Finland, which total 200MW. Read more

Japan launches floating tender off Nagasaki

Japan has kicked off an auction process for developers interested in building a floating wind farm off the coast of southern prefecture Nagasaki. The energy ministry is running the process and will pick a winner by June 2021. Read more

Vestas picks up undisclosed 249MW US order

Danish manufacturer Vestas has won a 249MW order from an undisclosed buyer in the US, for a project that is set to total 300MW. Commissioning is due by the end of 2021. Read more

COP plans 250MW floater in Italian waters

Copenhagen Offshore Partners is developing a 250MW floating wind project called 7Seas Med between Italy and Sicily. The development is set to be worth a reported €741m. Read more
